What arrives with your order

  • Remanufactured long block: short-block assembly and cylinder heads

This is a long block, not a fully dressed, ready-to-run engine. External parts are not included unless specifically listed in your order. Photographs may show a representative configuration.

Parts to transfer or replace

Plan for application-specific intake and exhaust manifolds, fuel system and throttle body, sensors and wiring, accessory drive, flexplate or flywheel and engine-management components. The original oil pan, pickup and front cover may also need to transfer, depending on the supplied assembly and vehicle.

Reuse only serviceable components. Identify the cause of the original failure, clean the intake of debris, inspect the cooling and fuel systems, and follow the supplied oil-pump and oil-cooler requirements before startup.

Freight and core deposit

A $300 core deposit is added at checkout. Outbound engine freight is $299. If you use GOAT's arranged core return, return freight is $299 and is deducted from the approved core refund. No separate return-freight payment is collected up front.

Warranty coverage

For eligible passenger cars and light trucks up to one ton: 3 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, covering defects in materials or workmanship. Parts and labor claims require approval and are subject to reimbursement limits. Special-use applications have different terms. Read the coverage, installation and claim summary below.

Sanity check

Make sure this is the right direction

Exact replacement Best when the vehicle needs the correct LS-based replacement engine.
Classic small-block Better for older swaps where a traditional Chevy small-block is the goal.
Torque upgrade A stroker-style build makes more sense when the project is not a direct replacement.
Big-block build Only consider big-block direction when the chassis and drivetrain are planned for it.

Warranty and installation

3-Year Limited Warranty

Eligible passenger cars and light trucks up to one ton are covered for 36 months or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, for defects in materials or workmanship. Special-use applications carry different coverage.

Covered engine components
Block, cylinder heads and internal lubricated parts, subject to inspection and approval. Separately supplied accessories and gaskets not installed during remanufacture are excluded.
Independent-shop labor
Published Motor or AllData flat-rate time, reimbursed at up to $50 per hour for approved repairs.
Owner-installed labor
Published flat-rate time at up to $25 per hour, with a $300 total labor cap, subject to approval.
Fluids and other costs
Oil and antifreeze reimbursement is capped at $45 during the initial 1,000 miles. Towing, rental vehicles and loss of use are excluded. Diagnostic time must be authorized.
Installation, registration and break-in requirements
  • Register the warranty within 30 days of installation. Contact GOAT for registration instructions.
  • Confirm the engine application and correct the cause of the original failure. Clean the intake and check the cooling, fuel and electronic systems.
  • Use the supplied oil pump, prime the oiling system before startup, and replace the oil cooler where originally equipped. Leave all heat tabs intact.
  • Follow OEM maintenance intervals and the supplied instructions. The manual requires servicing at an ASE-certified repair facility; retain the installation and service records.
  • Change the oil at 500 miles. The manual does not recommend synthetic oil until 5,000 miles. Avoid heavy loads, towing and extended constant-speed operation during break-in.
Claim procedure and coverage limits
  1. Stop operating the engine when a problem develops. Contact GOAT at goatengines@gmail.com before diagnostic work, disassembly or repairs.
  2. Provide the order number, engine serial/part number, vehicle VIN, installation date and mileage, current mileage, symptom description and supporting photos.
  3. Keep the original sales and repair invoices, parts receipts, maintenance records and authorization number. Follow the approved return and inspection instructions.
  4. Submit claim paperwork within 30 days of the last claim action. Parts and labor payments depend on approval after inspection.

Improper installation, overheating, oil starvation, contamination, misuse, racing, off-road use and unauthorized modifications are excluded. Special-use, motorhome and heavier-truck schedules differ; geographic restrictions also apply. This is a summary of the supplied limited warranty, not a replacement for its complete terms.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a stock-replacement long block or a fully dressed turn-key engine?

This is a stock-replacement reman long block built for the exact application family shown on this page, not a carbureted turn-key hot rod package.

Which vehicles does this version fit?

This version is aimed at 1999-2007 Chevy Silverado 1500, Avalanche, Suburban & Express Van; 1999-2007 GMC Sierra 1500 & Savana Van; 2002-2005 Cadillac Escalade. Fitment still needs to be confirmed by year, VIN/application details, and platform-specific hardware.

What engine code or application details should I match before ordering?

Match the year range, vehicle application, and the correct engine/application details for this listing: LM7/L59. 2007 Silverado/Sierra Classic only; VIN T/Z; 3-bolt cam gear; .8570" crank end flange; check PCV per GM TSB guidance.

Does this version keep the original valvetrain/fuel-management style setup?

This listing is meant to follow the stock-style application details for the engine family shown here, so matching the original setup matters.

Is a core charge required?

Yes. The listed selling price is for the engine itself; the core charge is separate and is handled through the reman core-return process after the correct rebuildable core is returned and accepted.

Is this in stock and ready to ship?

The current availability is shown beside the product price. The delivery range is an estimate based on handling and transit time; the shipping destination and carrier can affect arrival. Final availability is confirmed when your order is reviewed.

Do you help verify fitment before ordering?

Yes. GOAT will help confirm the correct year range, VIN/application details, electronics, and stock-style fitment direction before you place the order.

What warranty applies?

For eligible passenger cars and light trucks up to one ton, coverage is 3 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, for defects in materials or workmanship. Register within 30 days of installation and contact GOAT Engines before diagnosis, disassembly or repairs. Special-use applications have different terms. Full requirements and exclusions apply.
