The 350 is simple to recognize — but replacement fitment is not one-size-fits-all

Chevrolet’s 350 small-block is a 350-cubic-inch / 5.7L Gen I V8. Chevrolet Performance lists the familiar 4.000-inch bore and 3.480-inch stroke, but the replacement engines in this collection differ by year, VIN code, cam family, main-cap configuration, fuel setup and external hardware.

1986–1995 VIN K: one-piece-seal flat-cam 350s

The first group in this catalog covers 1986–1995 one-piece-rear-seal VIN K applications. All three are EFI-era flat-cam long blocks, but they are not identical. The source separates 2-bolt and 4-bolt main versions, and also identifies a 4-bolt Isuzu-style version with a fuel-pump hole.

That means Year/Make/Model can narrow you to the correct family, but you still need to inspect or identify the original engine configuration before choosing among the three products.

1996–2000 VIN R: Vortec / roller-cam 350s

The later group moves to VIN R Vortec applications with Gen Plus heads and roller-cam configuration.
